Sheriff came round in the middle o’ the night, Heard mama cryin’ somethin’ wasn’t right, Headin’ down to Knoxville with the weekly load, You could smell the whiskey burnin’ down Copperhead Road~
I think this may be my favourite part of the entire trip.
As a Tar Heel myself (I did my undergrad in North Carolina and love the state dearly), I personally couldn’t get over The Boys’ genuine inability to understand a WORD of what the men with really thick Piedmont accents were saying. You know that they’re bad enough actors that they weren’t faking it for the camera, they’re literally trying to understand what on earth the man is saying.
It was also nice to see them be in the US South and not be abhorrently mistreated. The I-10 corridor through the deep South really may be the asscrack of the country, and I still feel kind of sick whenever I watch that part of the episode. I swear we’re not all like that, not even all of us Southerners.
